IRISHMAN SET TO WATCH FIRST SUPER BOWL
Michael O’Flaherty (32) is getting ready to watch his first ever Super Bowl tonight. He’ll be watching Super Bowl LV (which stands for “Love Vehicle”) from his home in Riverstown, Glanmire, on his big telly in his front room, but Michael has told GNA exclusively, that he is prepared to watch some of the big game on his iPad “if it gets a bit late” and he needs to go to bed. He’s hoping it won’t come to that though as his partner, Sarah Hegarty (30), who is an ICU Nurse at CUH and has an early start in the morning, has “no interest” in watching “or being woken” by the match.
Michael O’Flaherty (32) - “All set” for the big game
Michael says he’s “All set” for tonight;
“I’ve bought nacho crisps, or ‘chips’ as they say (laughs… ), chips, a mild salsa dip, a slab of Coors Light (they’re mad for that over) and Sarah said she’d even make me one of those big long sandwiches with ham and pepperoni in it. It’s like a roll, or have you ever been to Subway? I think it’s like them.”
Michael says he hasn’t checked what time the Super Bowl’s on at yet, but he reckons it’ll be later than when it goes to penalties in the Champions League knockout games.
When probed, he told GNA, absolutely exclusively, that he was partly inspired to watch the Super Bowl after seeing how well Donie O’Sullivan’s doing at CNN, “especially after all that madness in Washington”. Michael says;
“They all seem to love him on CNN, and sure why not, but it made me think maybe the Yanks are alright.”
As we were walking away, he then added;
“And sure the world’s gone mad. Sarah’s been doing yoga over zoom and some sort of virtual book club thing and therapy so I said why not give this a go?”
Super Bowl LV kicks off tonight at an American time. You can see it live on your TV or on the internet. Highlights will follow later, in some of the same areas.
